The management of the Portuguese Society of
Intensive Care (SPCI) supports the formation of
working groups (WG's) with the objective to
promote & develop the interest of its
associates in the scientific, technical &
clinical areas of Intensive Care Medicine, while
respecting point no1 of the 3rd
article of the statutes of SPCI.

The WG's are constituted of effective members
of the SPCI, can be formed on the initiative of
the Management committee or by group(s), of
member(s) who have an interest in this area of
Intensive Care medicine

The Proposal of a WG to the Management
committee should include:
- The name of Coordinator
- The name of the group/project Liasor
- The name of the members who constitute
the group
- A working plan
IV
The admission of new members to a WG is
dependent on a personal request directed to the
Management of PSIC. The decision must be
communicated to the Coordinator of the Working
Group.
V
The Coordinator of the WG is obliged to:
- Inform the Management committee of the
SPCI about current projects
- Promote the execution of annual reports
- Propose the termination of a WG ( if 2/3
or more of the members vote in favour of
termination)
- Organize or participate in the meetings
of the SPCI in order to share relevant
findings
VI
The content of reports, studies etc. produced
by WG's are the property of the SPCI.

The WG will have total autonomy scientifically

The Management committee of the SPCI is
obliged to:
- Support the WG when so solicited, namely
concerning administrative support or in
publishing results obtained by the WG
- Promote in reunions that the SPCI is
involved (organizing,directly or by
support) in spreading the WG's findings.
- In the case of costs arising, other than
those included in the budget proposal
referred to previously, a budget must be
Organized & presented to the
Management committee for approval
IX
The Management committee of the SPCI can
propose the termination or retirement of WG's if
after two years of existence they have not
produced any work or have not satisfied the
conditions mentioned in V or VI.
X
The WG's can have a maximum duration of two
years, renewable, in the case of no opposition by
2/3 of the members.
XI
The present regulations can only be altered
every 3 years, after election of new Social
Bodies & by a proposal ratified in the
General Assembly
XII
These regulations enter into immediate effect
and will be ratified at an Extraordinary General
Assembly
